There was a lot of fuss this past weekend over the prediction of the Californian evangelist Harold Camping that Christians would be swept up into heaven on 21 May 2011, in an event known in the Bible as The Rapture. Jesus did not mince words when he stated, “about that day or hour no one knows”. If no one knows, not even Jesus, then the day or hour of his return, and the Church’s rapture, is not meant to be known. It is not what is important.
